Where did Gordon go?

If you knew me on Facebook and suddenly couldn’t find me, I didn’t block you. Facebook deleted my entire account, with no explanation and no means of appeal. Everything I ever wrote there is gone, as are all the photos taken by others over the years and shared with me.

Also gone is the 1,500-person network I depended upon as a writer. And it’s very bad timing, because I’m launching a new writing project in December.

So if you were looking for me on Facebook, here I am. You found me.

And maybe it’s perfect timing after all because, as I said, I’m launching something new in time for Christmas.

Who are these three guys?

Years ago, when I used to manage social media accounts for clients, I created three Facebook accounts for three very real buddies of mine. We were all part of a group in San Antonio called Brotherhood. We met for beer and pizza. Anyway, they rarely used these accounts, but I would use them in my work to test things, or sometimes leave comments.

Facebook deleted my account, but my buddies still have their old accounts. None of them were active, but they were willing to come back online to help me out in these troubled times.

I love these guys. We’ve been together for years.

So I said to myself, “Why not just hire these three fellows, these brothers of mine, to work with me at Voice Agency Comics? Amazingly, they all three accepted, so now they work for me and Glenda. I don’t know, as editors or graphic designers or something.

I’m not inclined to set up a new account at Facebook, so I think I’ll just let my buddies post stuff for me. Whichever ones posts for me, I’m guessing the other two will share it, let the reader understand.

Click a buddy to be taken to his bona fide, very real Facebook page.

What is Voice Agency Comics?

Voice Agency Comics is a small independent publishing project built around my writing. My best work—essays, stories, memoir, theology, strange little pieces about this and that—re-imagined as illustrated literature.

The website isn’t public yet. My first ten issues are done, and I’m working on five more.

The plan is to launch in December.

Social media platforms come and go.

I know that now.

GordonAtkinson.com is where you can always find my new writing.

GordonAtkinson.net is where you can find my old writing.
